“Their expectation was that I should accept the fact that I insulted the students, so that the issue of the chief’s student friend is hidden. The issue concerning the student friend is quite delicate, but I can report about it, sir, if you desire.” This statement was made by the headmaster in reference to Kgosi Linchwe II, the then Paramount Chief of the Bakgatla tribe, after the Kgosi referred him to the school board to answer for insulting his pupils.
